I think your writers will really love the image for this week. It’s a picture of the Ring Nebula and it’s truly awesome! This graphic alone inspires creativity, however, I have included some picture writing prompts that will give your kids some specific topics to write about.
1. A Beautiful Discovery
You are exploring the universe in your spaceship and you come across this beautiful nebula. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, you can’t take a picture of it. The only way you can tell anyone back home about it is to write a description and send that home. Write a detailed description of this nebula.
2. A Voice
As you approach this space anomaly, you hear a voice speak inside your head. It says . . . Finish this story.
3. Fable or Folktale
Write a fable or folktale about how this nebula came to be.
4. Make It Yours
Come up with your own piece of writing for this picture.
