The prompts for today will prepare your writers for the 4th of July.
1. A Trip Back in Time
You and your friends are dressed up in 18th century clothing for the 4th of July. You are enjoying yourselves by lighting up sparklers when a mysterious fog rolls in. When it clears, you find yourselves surrounded by more people in vintage clothing. In fact, it looks as if everyone is dressed that way. You don’t think you are in the 21st century any more. Finish this story.
2. Independence Journal
Pretend you are a soldier during the American revolution. Write some journal entries describing what life was like serving as a soldier.
3. How Do Fireworks Work?
Your friend wants to know how fireworks work. Find out and then write a dialogue between the two of you explaining how they work.
4. Make It Yours
Come up with your own piece of writing for this picture.
Be sure to come back each week for more picture writing prompts or check out my Picture Writing Prompts Weekly Series to see the complete list of links.
